Brighton i360 – Take a voyage to the skies and see Sussex as you have never seen it before. Glide up slowly to 450 feet high to enjoy breath-taking 360 degree views of up to 26 miles from the world’s first vertical cable car, designed by the London Eye architects.
The 17 cans which will eventually make up the tower section of the i360 begin to arrive in Brighton on Thursday, June 11th. In just a few days our tower is due to arrive on Brighton beach and we are so excited! The barge is due to arrive at 5am and the crane will be lifting the space age cans as soon as it is moored.
The first 6 cans are being brought to Sussex by barge from a specialist factory in Holland and they will arrive directly onto the beach beside our site at approximately 5am.
Our giant yellow crane will then lift the cans and jacking tower from the barge to the beach storage area – an amazing spectacle!
Are expecting significant media interest in the arrival of the cans as well as locals coming down throughout the day to see what is going on.
If you are keen to come and watch the action with us, or find out more about what we are doing, we will have a community information stall and a live band – Steel Strum – from 3.30pm to 5.30pm next to the West Pier Arches shops.
