Lea DeLaria

Lea DeLaria

Lea DeLaria, who already enjoyed a career as a Broadway singer and stand-up comedian, made her recording debut in 2000.

Hailed by the Times as ‘the Best Jazz Album of 2001″, Play It Cool confirmed Lea as one of the best jazz singers of our time. Q magazine commented “Lea DeLaria is blessed with one of the most beautiful voices around”, while Time Out claimed “the gal can certainly swing”, and the Guardian summed her up as “talks like a coffee grinder, and sounds like a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and a Broadway diva.”

Lea DeLaria has distinguished herself in every form of entertainment that she touches. Jazz Musician, Broadway Diva, Actor Writer and Stand-Up Comic, and it is plain to see why Ben Brantley of the New York Times describes Lea as, “Every inch a star.”

Dom James and his Dixie Ticklers

The Dixie Ticklers are one of the UK’s most respected acoustic bands.  They are transforming and revisiting classic New Orleans music. This hard working band is building a fierce live reputation within jazz, the vintage scene and Europe’s festival circuit.

Old masters like Kid Ory, Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton hopefully would have approved of their interpretation of Salty DogI Wish I Could Shimmie Like My Sister Kate and Wild Man Blues. These guys are so hot, that even New Orleans enthusiast Woody Allen has a copy of their record.
