first ever FIA Formula E in London

London -Nelson Piquet Junior won the first ever FIA Formula E championship at the final race of the season at London’s Battersea Park.

The Brazilian driver beat Sebastien Buemi, another former F1 driver, by a single point after finishing seventh in a thrilling race won by British driver Sam Bird. Bird was handed the victory after Stephane Sarrazin, who crossed the line first having started on pole driving for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Venturi team, was handed a 49-second penalty for going over his power allowance.
