London: Events in the Sky opens to the public today, 12th September, for two weeks, until 21st September, with several chefs involved. This event see five of London’s best Michelin starred restaurants transfer their menus and dining experiences to a unique sky table, suspended 100 feet in the air. The table seats 22 guests, with a guest chef, sommelier and waiting team serving from the centre of the table. It’s truly a gastronomic experience like no other!
The three-course lunch ‘flights’ are £200 per head, whilst a five-course dinner is £250.
A more affordable option are the breakfast flights at £50, and the Taittinger champagne and canapé afternoon trips for £75.
Breakfast will be served by Anna Hansen from The Modern Pantry. The lunch and dinner service will rotate between Benares’ Atul Kochhar, Club Gasgon’s Pascal Aussignac, Angler’s Tony Fleming, L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon’s Xavier Boyer, and Alyn Williams from the eponymous restaurant at the Westbury.

Anna Hansen – The Modern Pantry
Anna Hansen’s cooking reflects her Danish ancestry, a childhood in New Zealand, and a culinary journey to the UK. With years of experience in the restaurant business, Anna is a culinary prodigy with a fresh and contemporary take on food. Her imaginative menus feature bold ingredients specially selected and intelligently brought together based on their inherent flavour rather than their origin.
The Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner seven days a week, with a Café and Pantry Shop on the ground floor as well as outside seating in the square, two elegant dining rooms on the first floor and a private room at the top of the townhouse overlooking St John’s Square called The Foundry Room.
Anna Hansen published her first cookbook ‘The Modern Pantry Cookbook’ in 2011, was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honour List 2012. Either Anna or the Head Chef, Rob McLeary, will be cooking breakfast on a daily basis.
Xavier Boyer – L’Atelier

Chef Xavier Boyer started working with Mr. Robuchon 12 years ago from Le Laurent, Paris to L’Atelier’s outposts in New York and Taipei, along with regular appearance on Gourmet TV in France. A native of Montpellier, France, he studied culinary and pastry arts at Paris’ L’Ecole Superieur de la Cuisine Française, then graduated from Lycée Saint-Joseph du Parchamps in Boulogne.
Tony Fleming – Angler
Stepping out of the lift on the seventh floor of South Place Hotel, guests are greeted by an elegant dining room that sparkles beneath a mirrored ceiling by sculptors Grace & Webb. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out across the City of London, transforming the light from crisp pale blue to inky hues from day to night.
Executive Chef Tony Fleming’s Tony came to London to work as Chef de Partie for Marco Pierre White, first at the Criterion and then at the triple Michelin-starred Oak Room. Thereafter Tony worked for Richard Neat in the Oxo Tower and most recently the Executive Chef at One Aldwych.
The Michelin-starred Angler restaurant showcases sustainable seafood from British waters, paired with the best seasonal and local produce. Tony Fleming’s accomplished pairings and picture-perfect plates have made Angler a destination for savvy London diners.
Atul Kochhar – Benares Restaurant
Benares Restaurant and bar is situated on Berkeley Square, Mayfair is a prestigious, luxurious restaurant from Chef Patron Atul Kochhar, the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin Star. Atul has been integral in changing the perception of Indian cuisine in Britain, creating a contemporary approach that utilises the best seasonal produce available in Britain with traditional Indian techniques and flavours.
Renowned for being one of the finest Indian restaurants in the world, Benares boasts four magnificent Private Dining Rooms. The experienced Sommelier team are on hand to carefully pair fine wines with the exciting flavours of Atul’s dishes.
2014 saw Atul Kochhar maintain his Michelin star at Benares for the 8th consecutive year.
Pascal Aussignac – Club Gascon
Michelin-starred chef, Pascal Aussignac hails from Toulouse in the South West of France and trained with French master Chefs like Gerard Vie, Alain Dutournier and Guy Savoy. His love of food and attention to detail have been delighting foodies & critics in London since 1998.
Club Gascon, the flagship of his seven award-winning restaurants, was awarded a Michelin Star in 2002 that it has kept since. In 2007 it was awarded the ultimate peer group accolade of Restaurant of the Year by Caterer Magazine. Specialising in imaginative cuisine from his beloved homeland of Gascony, Chef Pascal Aussignac’s talent with seasonal produce and his ability to bring ingredients together show in every dish.
Alyn Williams – Alyn Williams at The Westbury
Elegant, understated and chic, Alyn Williams at The Westbury is a shining star in Mayfair’s ever-growing Michelin constellation.
Following eight years perfecting his craft with Marcus Wareing in the Berkeley Hotel, during which time the restaurant achieved its 2nd Michelin star, the humble London born chef stepped into the spotlight with the opening of his eponymous restaurant in the autumn of 2011 – and what an impact it made.
Within its first year of business, the elegant restaurant was awarded a Michelin star, a Three AA Rosette Award, and a top 15 ranking in the National Restaurant Awards.
