‘Made in Italy’ innovation reaches London. The old Truman Brewery welcomes the first edition of Smau London Italy restarts in London on 3rd May.
Innovators, companies and investors of the British capital will get in touch with a selection of 40 Italian startups, incubators and Italian areas of innovation to meet new as well as promising talents within the most innovative “Made in Italy” fields. Fintech, Life Science, Artificial Intelligence, Agrifood, Smart Manufacturing.
London, April 27th Smau has been the exhibition representing the reference point in terms of innovation for companies and public administrations for 55 years. On 3rd May it will land in London for the first time, with the first stop of SmauLondon| Italy RestartsUp in London. The venue, performed in collaboration with ICE| ItalianTrade Agency, aims at creating new International relations, partnerships and connections between the ecosystem of London innovation and a selection of the most innovative and promising Italian business.
The venue will be inaugurated with a reception at the Italian Embassy in London and will take place at The Old Truman Brewery (85Brick Ln, London) on 3rd May. Here, British companies, innovators and investors will meet a selection of 40 Italian startups and some of the main protagonists of the Italian innovation ecosystem. Among them: Apple Developer Academy, Cisco Italia, Aruba, Intesa Sanpaolo, the first banking group attending the venue with 5 startups; and also AIFI, the Italian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Italia Startup, the Italian Startup Association, Area Science Park, the national research body managing the multi-sector Science and Technology Park in Trieste, Clhub, an international venture incubator focusing on Clean, Agri, Iot and Digital sectors, Future Food Institute, Digital Magics, a digital project incubator, P101, the Venture Capital company focused on early-stage investments in the digital sector and the main regional innovation systems.
Italian and British innovators will confront each other in a conference programme on significant themes such as Fintech, Life Science, Artificial Intelligence, Agrifood, Smart Manufacturing. As for London innovative environment, Healthware, a leading agency operating within the healthcare ecosystem will attend the venue, together with SETSquared, Wayra UK, Roche, Central Working, Level39, TechstarsLondon, BreedReply, Oval Money, a fintech startup based in Turin and London that created a marketplace of financial products, London&Partners, London Stock Exchange with ELITE programme, Crowdfooding, a platform connecting agrifood startups, investors and corporates of the sector, Five Seasons Ventures, the VC fund dedicated to FoodTech and AgTech startups, and TheFarMM.

In order to allow the matching with attending businesses and to deeply understand those of greatest interest to the visitors, “The Old Truman Brewery“ schedule will host speedpitching sessions whereby each startup will make a two minute offer, introduce one to one meetings and display an exhibition space where to deepen the innovations.
The panel organised by iStarter will close the day of business meetings and presentations. IStarter is the London based Italian accelerator specialised in helping the best scale-ups to globally expand; it selected some successful stories among its 100 Equity Partners and chose one startup from its portfolio. The businesses will tell their own stories and give practical advice to inspire innovators who want to be successful in the UK.
At 7.30 pm, the party with TechItalia community will follow. It will gather more than 1500 entrepreneurs, startups and Italian digital professionals based in London.

Forty Italian startups will display their ready-for-the-market solutions and products at the Old Truman Brewery: Agricolus, startup operating in the precision agriculture sector; Axyon.AI, an artificial intelligence service (AI) developing user friendly Deep Learning models for data-driven companies; Biofarm, a social marketplace for users to adopt trees so to create a digital field, to follow on-line its organic farming directly from local farmers and to receive the products directly at home; Cynomis, a startup providing integrated systems to monitor the environment by IOT sensor networks working 24/7 and sending alerts in case of danger or when measured parameters exceed a predefined threshold; Epochè a startup producing hybrid technology for fashion and fashion accessories; Agriopendata by EZLab, startup specialized in advanced softwares and digital solutions in the Smart Agri-food sector with the aim to support the Agriculture Industry and to increase the high quality production.
Elements Works SRL, startup active in marine and underwater engineering pertaining to Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) 4.0. It has developed various innovative solutions which rely on IoT and Edge Computing or enable their use in the underwater environment.
Flairbit, a startup specialised in M2B software solutions and Industrial IoT; Filck on food, the first foodhub in the world provided with a wikifoodapp to explore on the go, gathering and sharing traditional knowledge; a food-commerce to get Foodexperience, a VR based platform outsourcing use and purchase of experiential packages; Geofunction, an ICT company specialised in software solutions for Local Based Services, WebGIS and mobileGISsystems, Greentronics, a startup operating within electronics industry; Healthtropy, a startup operating within health informatics and in particular within Health Information Exchange standard application; Hearth, B2B2C digital platform for territorial enhancement of historic, cultural, landscaping and small-medium businesses, HearthWatch, a startup which worked out a contactless solution to constantly monitor patients. The platform uses a combination of technologies such as advanced face detection, signal processing and intelligent machine learninganalytics to detect the first symptoms of heart, breathing and mobility problems, and to favour life saving preventing care; Hide, revolutionising the idea of electrical outlet by a refined and linear design, turning a service point into a creative, original and neat accessory: the plug disappears inside the wall, behind the sliding door and the wall stays tidy. Hopenly, a startup planning interventions to introduce the Data Driven Management, a business governance approach allowing to take strategic decisions based on data; Immensive, a startup developing Immersive Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications to ease design and production processes of companies and design studios. The startup mainly addresses to Architecture, Engineering and Marketing as well as to Cultural Heritage and Tourism to enhance cultural heritage and promote sites of interest, and to factories and the Health sector to support current training methods; IOOOTA, a startup that will introduce Jarvis, a IoT solution for the home and the office; Joykos, a startup that created Kard, a new way to exchange and manage work contacts by replacing paper visiting cards and creating a business social address book, Lumi Industries, a startup producing 3D resin printers at an affordable to everyone price, Morpheos, a startup which created Momo, a design lamp making every house intelligent thanks to the combination of IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
Natural Intelligent Technologies, NITe, a business that developed the first Italian technology based on Artificial Intelligence, patented in the United States and in Italy, and pending patent in Europe and Israel, capable of reading, searching and analysing handwriting in digital documents independently of the writer, the alphabet and the language; NintendOn, B2B2C digital platform for land enhancement of historic, cultural, landscape and small-medium sized companies; Niurion| P2R, a neuromotor rehabilitation system basically meant as a console interactive video game but suitable also to medical and hospital equipment for rehabilitation, and to fitness tools. The system is provided with inertial sensors for motion capture. They are worn by athletes/patients and integrated with algorithms for communication, management and data processing. The system owns an intuitive software with a graphic interface on a gaming level, as well; NOIMA, a startup that made CERTO, a solution based on blockchain technology which allows to certify the intellectual property; Park Smart, a startup which developed a technology capable of monitoring parking places by an intelligent software based on computer vision; Quantitas, a tech start-up that develop decision support systems in highly complex contexts, designing tools and setting itself the challenge to implement methodologies for collection, and analysis, and simulation of real-world data related to business decisions; Roll Studio, an innovative and engaging multi-award-winning digital production agency specialised in web, mobile and interactive installation solutions; Smartme.Io, a startup planning and implementing products based on the combination of open and lowcost IoT technologies with Cloud technology based on OpenStack platform, to offer innovative solutions for Metering, Devices and Fleet Management, Monitoring, Crowdsensing systems, together with other Smart Environment aspects, Sal Engineering, a startup developing and offering services regarding data acquisition systems (multispectral, thermal, environmental, photographic) applied to the use of air, land and marine vehicles and remote piloting; Soisy, a social landing startup, allowing to buy in instalments on the internet; it is Italian but has already a thriving base in the UK, Together Price, a platform to share volume licence and multi account digital services; Tolemaica, a startup offering digital solutions to help private and business people to give legal value to their photos with a certified date so that nobody can disclaim it was shot before a certain time; Virtual Mind, a startup introducing Pill 360, the tiniest pill in the world for noninvasive endoscopic analysis by a miniaturised nano-robot; Way V Lab, a startup developing proximity devices and IoT technologies to offer customers non conventional experiences; WeAR con Marko (Manual in Augmented Reality, Kit in Overlay): a SaaS allowing companies to create interactive manuals and instructions based on Augmented Reality.
