London- If you would like to spend a few days of fun in London at the festive period, there are several places where you can ice skate.
One of the most popular places is Somerset House, a neoclassic building situated overlooking The River Thames. Contemporary art and design exhibitions are also held there. It is open every day and is also the home of London Fashion Week.
London also has Winter Wonderland, a fun fair that is situated in Hyde Park. It was inspired and created after a winter song written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and Richard B. Smith. The event is open every day from 10am to 10pm. You can enjoy yourself with varied attractions such as ice skating, Magical Ice Kingdom and Zippos Circus.
Visitors to London can also enjoy another venue, close to the Natural History Museum: there you can skate around a big Christmas tree inside a huge ice rink, there is also a smaller rink for beginners and children. The rink is open every day, Time Out describes it: “as picture perfect as it gets” .
London also has Eyeskate at the London Eye and Canary Wharf Ice Rink.
The festive spirit and a large turnout is common to all of these places but in my opinion the atmosphere is best at Somerset House which holds the largest ice rink.
