Welcome Italia 2018: come and enjoy the best food and wine straight from Italy in London!

London – Italian food lovers do not miss the opportunity to visit the sixth edition of Welcome Italia. 

The event is taking place at the elegant Royal Horticultural Halls of Westminster, a few minutes from Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace, from 5th to 7th October 2018. 

Organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the UK, the purpose is promoting the Made in Italy cuisine excellence. The fair will host about 60 Italian companies interested in entering or strengthening their position in the British market. 

Visitors will be able to taste original Italian food attending famous chefs’ cooking shows and sommeliers’ wine-tastings.  

The fair will start on 5th October with a Trade Only Day, open to specialists from various channels, the purpose is establishing and developing new business relations. The 6th and 7th October will be open to visitors, who will be able to taste and purchase exhibitors’ products: a wide range of Italian specialties, thanks to collaboration with small companies and groups of exhibitors from all over Italy.  

By attending seminars, cooking shows and wine tastings, buyers and visitors will have an insight not only in traditional Italian food, but in healthy products included in the Mediterranean diet as well, over organic and delicious Italian wines. 

The event will be sponsored by Kimbo Coffee and Richard Ginori potteries, moreover cooking shows by the best Italian chefs in the UK like Theo Randall, Danilo Cortellini and Enzo Oliveri will take place.

 Who will Exibith?  

KIMBO 

Kimbo story begins in Naples in 1963, when three brothers, Francesco, Gerardo, and Elio Rubino, started roasting coffee in their father’s bakery. The popularity of their espresso was soon extended beyond their neighbourhood, taking advantage of new packaging techniques: with the revolutionary vacuum-packed can, the Neapolitan tradition of real coffee could be taken anywhere. Café do Brasil was set up in 1963 and became one of the most important European coffee roasting shops. Their coffee became famous all over the world with the Kimbo trademark: in 1994 Cafè do Brasil ranked second in the retail sector of the Italian market for packaged coffee, a position that it still holds today. 

AGRIBLEA  

Agriblea firm is situated in the so-called Val di Noto, in Ispica. 

Agriblea firm was born thanks to the love for the country and the stubbornness belonged by its owner, Giorgio Agosta.  

His dream is to bring the genuine and traditional Sicilian taste on the tables of all over the world through a niche product: the “Ciappa ri pummaroru”. 

He succeeds in fulfilling his aim thanks to the love and the support his family always gives him, together with the precise and accurate contribution of his working team.  

Agriblea produce the “Ciappa ri pummaroru” (dried tomatoes), that is to say a sun dried half oval or round or cherry tomato.  

LA RUOTA 

“La Ruota” was founded in 1975 along with experience and capability of generations of pastry bakers. After years of hard work, the bakery opened several shops in Salerno area. The bakery has equipped their laboratory exclusively dedicated to panettone, pandoro and colombe to increase the production and maintain high quality. 

These Christmas and Easter products are exported all over the world and it would not be surprising if you sit down and eat a panettone “La Ruota” even abroad.  

MERACINQUE 

Meracinque is a project created by five Italian sisters, the purpose is creating a brand to celebrate the excellent Italian rice produced by their father for decades to share the love for traditions and the flavours of this ingredient. 

Five risottos for five sisters: Saffron, Pumpkin, Mushroom, Asparagus, Tomato: condiments created with 100% selected Italian ingredients, dried and separated from rice to maintain the original flavours and excellent quality. 

Meracinque mission is guaranteeing the well-being of consumers preserving the Earth an environment.

The visitors’ entrance is admitted on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th, whilst Friday 5th is exclusively open to buyers.
