Windsor Castle will host an amazing exhibition of the main clothes used in the Royal Wedding

London (Giulia Faloia) – Some time passed since 19th May 2018, the day of the Royal Wedding. Despite Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married several months ago, they are still giving the chance to talk about the ceremony.

In fact some objects used for that occasion will be available in an exhibition at Windsor Castle this October.

Meghan Markle’s stunning Givenchy wedding dress will be exposed as well as Queen Mary’s 1932 diamond and platinum bandeau tiara that was lent to the Duchess of Sussex by the Queen for the first time.

Meghan’s breathtaking wedding dress that was designed by British designer Claire Waight Keller will on display at exhibition titled A Royal Wedding: The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex.

Every lover of fashion and weddings in general will have the chance to admire the details of the silk gown, five-metre long train.

It will be possible to see also the stunning veil that is embroidered with the flowers of all 53 Commonwealth countries and Wintersweet and a California Poppy.

Clare revealed that Meghan told her from the start exactly how she wanted to look at her Royal Wedding and that it took no less than eight fittings to create the final dress.

She added: “We very quickly agreed on the perfect dress. I wanted a modern and fresh silhouette while respecting her style” and, talking about the entire job, she said that it was “an immense honour to have worked closely with Meghan”.

Clare herself also revealed that the Duke of Sussex congratulated her after the wedding saying: “Oh my God. Thank you. She is absolutely magnificent”.

The Royal Collection Trust told Express.co.uk that Meghan’s second stunning dress of the evening that was designed by Stella McCartney will not be part of the exhibition.

A copy of the Duke of Sussex’s Savile Row-tailored uniform will be on display.

Prince Harry’s outfit was a specially commissioned frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals was made by Dege & Skinner. Plus the uniform will be paid with trousers made of blue and black wool barathea.

The exhibition will start at the wedding site of Windsor Castle before making its way to Holyrood Palace.

It will be at Windsor Castle from October 26 to January 6, and at Holyrood Palace from June 14 to October 6 next year.

Art Event ARTOOMS 2016 Showcases 70 Independent Artists For Free

London – In its second year running, ARTOOMS 2016 aims to create the largest exhibition of independent artists in London.
The organisers of the ARTROOMS show have issued a casting call to artists to join what they hope will be the largest ever event for independent artists in the city’s history.

To ensure that they attracted the best possible talent they also decided to make the show free for artists to exhibit.

Now in its second year running, ARTROOMS is taking over 70 bedrooms at a top 4 star hotel in Marylebone, offering all of them exclusively to rising independent artists for 4 days during the London Arts Fair in January.
The decision to make the show exclusive to independent artists was a major gamble.

Last year’s event featured a mixture of gallery signed artists and independents, but after receiving strong encouragement from industry experts, and rave reviews from visitors, the organisers decided to make the event exclusive to independent artists with the hope that galleries would be happy to sponsor this as a hunting ground rather than a showcase.

ARTROOMS is offering select sponsors a unique opportunity to be able to entertain their clients in a private suite during the event (included in the show’s sponsorship fee) and also a special matchmaking service by prearranging meetings with artists and buyers that fit their requirements.

“There is no other event offering independent artists this level of exposure in the UK” says the show’s founder, Cristina Cellini Antonini. “After last year’s show we realised not only how much incredible talent exists in the UK, but also how difficult it is for independents to gain recognition. This show is a unique opportunity to find “the next Picasso” in the comfort of a luxurious four star hotel in Regent’s Park.”

Cristina is herself a respected arts industry veteran who has organised arts festivals in Italy and worked across several continents. She first saw the ‘art rooms’ concept in South East Asia and was inspired to bring it to Europe. She felt that London would be the perfect place to launch it due to its standing in the arts industry.
Her gamble seems to be paying off with a number of avant-garde galleries like Contini Art UKjoining their roster of sponsors.

In addition the show has assembled an all-star cast of industry professionals to adjudicate its selection committee, including artist Cedric Christie, curator Diego Giolitti, and Sunday Telegraph’s chief art critic Alastair Smart.

“I have decided to share this vision and invest in the ARTROOMS project to support independent artists. As a private collector I am always looking for emerging artists and this fair is the perfect “hunting ground” to uncover tomorrow’s talents. At the first edition’s private view we had over 700 guests and I trust ARTROOMS 2016 will attract even more international private collectors” says the show’s co-founder and co-director Francesco Fanelli.
ARTROOMS is also drawing some big names as part of their ‘guest artist’ line-up, including Peter Crnokrak, a genetic scientist who turned his knowledge into art using scientific equations to create mesmerising digital creations. His work has caught the eye of customers as noteworthy as Apple.

Last year’s show managed to draw over 3000 visitors, including 700 VIPs, at the private view and 100 guests at the fundraising Gala Dinner & Auction for the Charity partner Bow Arts Trust.

One of the key factors to the show’s success has been the environment. “Hosting an exhibition in a bedroom creates a very intimate space between the artist and the guest,” continues Cristina, “often we find the artist sitting next to their guests on the bed talking at great lengths about their inspirations. It forms a special connection between the buyer and the work.”

“Although extremely beneficial, galleries have become a barrier to many artists that haven’t got into the market circuit yet,” says Lorenzo Belenguer, artist and art critic (FAD Magazine and the Huffington Post). “Cellini is very generous in seeking sponsorship to fund the ArtRooms Fair, so talent, and not wealth, will be the only reason to being selected for this unique project.”

Lorenzo believes that the ARTOOMS is having a wider impact on the industry, paving the way for other innovative events during the week such as ‘Condo’ which features 22 galleries across 7 London spaces.

“Cellini is a true pioneer. Thanks to her determination, London Art Fair Week has positioned itself as the most important week in the London annual Arts calendar for the mid-market.”

Among sponsors of the 2016 edition are Marine Tanguy Art, Konnii, the Italian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in the UK, the Italian Trade, Brownhill Insurance, Jackson Art, Celeste Prize, Useum, Belluzzo & Partners, the Wall Street International, and Rhubbit.

With ARTROOMS already showing so much promise, the organisers have plans to take this pioneering movement abroad, expanding to Dubai in 2017 and other cities after. Their aim is to showcase the talent they are finding here to other markets.

“There is a heavy demand for European artists in the Middle and Far East, but they struggle to capture it due to the costs of shipping and travel. We want to take the best artists there for free,” says Cristina.

Mirroring last year’s format, ARTROOMS will open with a special, invitation-only, preview on the 22nd of January and then to the general public on the 23rd where it will remain open till the 25th.

The fast approaching deadline for applications is the 15th of December 2015. Artists wishing to apply can do so right now in three simple steps on the show’s website: http://www.art-rooms.org

Eleonora Damizia live in concert at the Crazy Coqs Club in Soho

London – Eleonora Damizia live in concert at the Crazy Coqs Club in Soho. A spectacular multilingual music journey through cultures. On Saturday 24th of October 2015, I had the pleasure of watching a faboulous multilingual concert at the Crazy Coqs performance venue, in Soho, London.

My immediate thought was that writing an article about that show should be a must.

I am talking about the Eleonora Damizia’s concert, which is conceived as an emotional cabaret and jazz music journey through different cultures (American, Italian, Brasilian, French, Russian) with swing, walzer, tango, bossanova, samba, and ballad rhythms.

Eleonora is an exceptional Multilingual singer and songwriter based in London. After several TV appearances on Rai 2 tv, she moved from Rome to the Uk, rapidly putting her sophisticated mediterrenean stamp on the London music scene. If I had to choose one word to describe her show, “Breathtaking” would be it.

The singer has indeed got the ability of deeply connecting with the audience, creating a beautiful exchange of emotions.

Her Concert has been such a huge success, with a full house and exceptional musicians; the talented Simon Morris on guitar and Nick Lenner Webster on double bass, who accompanied Eleonora during the whole show.

ED’s voice is often compared to the ones of the greatest divas of the past.

Eleonora’s vocal style could be indeed described as a blend amongst the operatic Jazz style of Sarah Vaughan, the emotional depth and soulfness of Eva Cassidy and the sultry tone of Julie London. Also, her theatrical stage presence reminds me the one of the incredible Belgian-Canadian artist Lara Fabian.

eleonora2 2Neverthless, Eleonora’s timbre cannot be confused with the one of anyone else, and it is her distinctive signature.

After her first notes the listeners seemed mesmerised by her energy, contemplating in silent awe the most phenomenal of her attributes, her voice.

With a luscious and nuanced timbre, she brings an operatic splendour to her performances of popular standards. Her style is jazz, blues, pop, folk, opera.

She definitely loves music in its whole and she brings together all the rhythms that she likes in a unique show. Moreover, during her concert she magistrally interpreted the most famous classics of the Italian and French music, with a unique emotional interpretation of the Edith Piaf hit, “je ne regrette rien”, and a beautiful rendition of the Italian masterpiece “Torna a surriento”.

ED’s concert was certainly a unique experience, making it unmissable in my opinion.

I have great expectations that her future concerts will be sold out just as fast as this one was last Saturday, at the crazy Coqs.

‘SUPER’ TEAMWORK DELIVERS GRAND PRIX TITLE TO ITALY’S GUARISCHI

London – There was an Italian victory at the Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix on The Mall this evening, but it was Barbara Guarischi who was yelling in delight rather than the much-fancied defending champion Giorgia Bronzini as the Velocio Sports rider snatched the win by half a wheel in a bunch sprint at the end of a race in which half the field were wiped out in a huge crash with one lap to go. [photo Barbara Guarischi]

Led out by Trixi Worrack, Barbara Guarischi timed her effort to perfection to pip Shelley Olds on the line after three-quarters of an hour of helter-skelter cycling around St James’s Park, with Olds’s Ale Cipolinni team-mate Annalisa Cucinotta taking third barely a wheel’s rim behind.

Barbara Guarischi ‘s team leader Lisa Brennauer had made a break with five of the 15 1.3-mile circuits to go, and when the world time trial champion was reeled in the Velocio squad reorganised at the front of the peloton to get Guarischi into prime position.

With Giorgia Bronzini and her Wiggle Honda team-mates in the hunt, and 2013 winner Laura Trott among the contenders, it was never going to be easy. But Worrack and Brennauer pushed hard as the riders turned off Horse Guards Road and unleashed Guarischi with 100 metres to go.

The Italian has been in fine form recently, winning a stage at the Giro d’Italia Femminile, and she launched herself at the line alongside her Cipolinni rivals before throwing her right arm up in triumph and screaming at the London sky, full of joy at a job done well. “I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it,” said the 25-year-old.

“This is all down to teamwork; together we can do anything. All season we have worked together and we have won a lot. “Today was a good race for us; a great race for me.

Our tactic was to go all out for me to win the sprint. But it was not easy because there were a lot of strong riders in the race and it was hard to compete. “Luck was with us today and in the last lap my team was really super. Trixi pushed for me in the last 200m and then with 100m to go I pushed hard and it was done.”

Twelve months ago it was Giogia Bronzini who took victory on the line, but this time the 32-year-old had to settle for fifth behind her Wiggle team-mate Annette Edmondson, her late dash for the line hampered by the aftermath of the crash Trott was affected by the pile-up too as her main Matrix Pro lead-out rider was taken out, leaving the double Olympic champion high and dry on the last lap.

“It was really too fast for me and I was too far back,” said Trott, who has been training hard on the track for the Rio Olympics. “Then there was that massive crash, which took out my lead-out girl, so that was it.

I was left to fend for myself and I wasn’t ready for such a fast sprint.” Olds and Cucinotta were a fraction short of firepower too as their four-woman outfit came up just short of their target against the larger set-ups. “It was such an aggressive race and we only had four, so it was tough against the bigger teams,” said Olds. “We had to be careful we didn’t let anything go and we wanted to be up for the sprint too, so it was hard work. “We didn’t get on top step and that was our goal so we are a little disappointed. But we had two on the podium so we know we are stong.”

Cucinotta led briefly as the sprinters began to wind-up for their final efforts, only to be overhauled when Guarischi sprung from the Velocio trap. “I started early in the sprint but Barbara was very strong and that was kaput,” she said.

For Olds, racing with Ale Cipolinni for the first time, it was only the team’s inexperience that cost them the victory. “When we come together better we can win,” said the American who moved from Bigla Pro Cycling earlier this year. “We placed two and three today, but we know in the future we can win. We’ll be back.” After claiming the biggest win of her career in front of Buckingham Palace, Guarischi will surely be back too. “This win was really important for me,” she said. “I was a bit tired when I arrived in London but with this team it’s impossible not to race well. “It’s the first time I’ve done this race and it was amazing.

The people here are incredible. It’s super.”

There were super finishes in the two criterium races for youth riders, which brought day one of the world’s greatest festival of cycling to a close, the next generation of cycling champions racing over the same iconic course as the pros. National road and track champion Ella Barnwell added a third title to her growing list of honours when she led Sophie Williams to a Welsh one-two in the girls’ race ahead of Elizabeth Catlow of the East Midlands. “That was a great experience,” said Barnwell, who is clearly getting used to the winning feeling.

“The race was quite fast and technical in some parts. I wasn’t nervous because I won the nationals a few weeks ago, but it feels really amazing to win on this course. It’s such a great opportunity.”

Jake Stewart grabbed an impressive win in the boys’ race, the West Midlands rider covering early attacks before sprinting across the line ahead of Central region’s Charles Page, with Jim Brown of Yorkshire third.

“I knew it was a quick circuit so I was hoping to win,” said Stewart, who finished second in the recent British Championships.

“I chased down a few breaks early on then it was just the top five riders for the last two laps. “I am just chuffed to come out on top, over the moon. It’s great to be racing somewhere like this with such a great atmosphere. It’s inspiring, something you can only dream of as a youth rider.”

Digital Shoreditch, one of Europe’s leading tech and creative community

Digital Shoreditch, one of Europe’s leading tech and creative community events kicks off in Shoreditch today. The two week festival, hosting over 15,000 attendees brings together some of the most forward thinking and dynamic organisations in London.

Digital Shoreditch, launched in October 2010, is a not for profit, grass root, industry-led community dedicated to fostering connections and celebrating the outstanding talent in the digital media and technology community flourishing in east London.

During the two weeks, Digital Shoreditch offers an abundance of talks, workshops, panel discussions and parties that help connect and celebrate the tech community within Shoreditch and beyond. Shoreditch Town Hall will be the focal point of the first week’s programme with the second week opening up to the wider community for a selection of open houses and individually run events, all part of the overall festival.

Digital Shoreditch will once again showcase and support the creative society of East London with returning themes from past festivals and the introduction of several new themes including: intelligent devices and smart cities, food and health, makertech, DIY and hacker, film and music, space and incubation, wearable tech and fintech.

James Allsopp, Director of Digital Shoreditch said; “Digital Shoreditch has become a landmark event for all of the tech community and we have been blown away with the number of brands, companies and individuals that have wanted to get involved. The spectrum of companies looking to participate has been amazing to see, whether it’s some of the biggest companies in the world, right the way through to the small little start-ups that are just starting their journey, everyone has been so eager to join and get involved.”

Rebecca Huxley, Director of Digital Shoreditch said; “Our focus for Digital Shoreditch has always been about the community and bringing all the great work that happens to one central point. For this year’s festival, we’ve wanted to change things up slightly from years previous and bring in new topics and themes to give more of the community a chance to get involved so we’re really excited to see how that pans out.”

As well as hearing from some of the most dynamic minds around, Digital Shoreditch will also help raise awareness of various schemes and platforms that are helping address the ongoing issue of the digital skills gap in the younger generation. The debates and discussions taking place at the festival will hopefully make businesses consider how a new generation in the tech community can get involved and keep the tech community spirit alive.

The festival in 2013 attracted over 14,500 participants, 2254 companies, 165 media & press and over 480 speakers. Since then we have hosted meetups and events, attended by hundreds of people and our reputation has grown to one of the most innovative community platforms celebrating outstanding creativity and innovation in the heart of UK’s premier digital hub. We are ecstatic about the high level of interest and commitment from our diverse community.
