From Pistoia will start the production of 29 new trains for UK

Has been announced a great news from the Italian industrial sector, especially on the field of transport, in fact seems the the United Kingdom confirmed the purchase of a new fleet of train for the next year.

On July 2015 has been signed the agreement for the delivery of new 29 train between the Hitachi Rail Italy and the Great Western Railway.

The Hitachi group, founded in 1910 by electrical engineer Namihei Odaira in Ibaraki Prefecture, since 1918 its headquarters was moved to Tokyo.

Hitachi group is one of the most important industrial conglomerate of the world and, over the years, there has been a long industrial relationship between this this great company and our country.

I want to remember that some years ago FIAT industrial found an important accord with Hitachi for the production of new hydraulic excavators.

Now there is another strong link but not in the field of working machines but in which of transport and train. During 2015 Hitachi acquired the great Italian company Ansaldo-Breda, previously belonged at Finmeccanica.

Ansaldo-Breda has been for year an important leader for the production of trains and other vehicles of transport, but now Hitachi with is important acquisition is official become one of the most important group in the world on the field of rail transport.

The recent agreement signed between Hitachi and the Great Western Railway forecasts the production of 29 new trains AT 300 for serving the railways between London Paddington and the cities of Plymouth e Penzance, located at west of the country.

This contract worth over 500 millions of euro and will employ thousands of Italian worker in fact the entire production will be done at the plant that Hitachi has in Pistoia.

For this Tuscany establishment will be a great honour build trains for the renowned and prestigious Great Western Railway. The Great Britain played a leader role during the beginnings of the railways and the Gwr has been accompanying the growth of Great Britain on the field of railway transport.

The Great Western Railways is so famous in England that the romanticism Pinter J.M.W Turner dedicated his great painting entitled: Rain, Steam and Speed, own to the Great Wester Railway.

Licio Gelli: a entire life of mysteries and secrets

Once ended the World War II Gelli, after a sales job with the Italian mattress factory Permaflex, founded his own textile and importing company, the success that achieved with this his own factory allowed to him to enter in the great world of the financial sector.
After the failed Golpe Borghese of 1970 in which Gelli took part, he increased year by year his influence and power not only in Italy but also to abroad, especially in Argentina where he had a lot of important contacts.

In particular in Argentina his near professional relationship with Chancellor Alberto Vignes brought a lot of benefits to the commercial exchanges between Italy and Argentina.

Anyway Licio Gelli is not remembered only for his successful financial career but mostly for having played a role of Grand Master in a clandestine masonic lodge P2.

The Gelli’s downfall began with the Banco Ambrosiano scandal in 1981, the bankrupt of this important financial institution has been perceived at international level and caused a lot of tough aftermath to his main managers.

In a police raid on his villa in Arezzo, the investigators discovered a list of 962 names, compound by influential members of the Italian political and international life such as: important state officials, some important politicians and a number of military officers, including the heads of the three Italian secret services; among the names there was also Silvio Berlusconi, the manager of the successful Canale 5 TV Channel, that would have become the next prime minister of the Italian right-centre government. The Propaganda 2 was a clandestine masonic lodge expelled from Grande Oriente d’Italia Masonic organization. From 1945 to 1976 the P2 operated under the jurisdiction of Great Orient of Italy but when Licio Gelli headed P2 from 1976 to 1981, the year in which P2 ceased to exist, operating illegally was officially declared expelled by the Great Orient of Italy.
Even though under the Mussolini’s dictatorship the Freemasonry in Italy had been outlawed, after the conflict started again, P2 increased its importance and influence in every layer of State’s administration and Licio Gelli was one of the main protagonist in this climb to the power.

However with the Banco Ambrosiano scandal began the downfall of Gelli who has not been only judged as responsible for the bankrupt of this important financial institution but also for the murder of Milanese banker Roberto Calvi also known as “God’s banker” called so for his proximity to the Vatican Bank.

Calvi, the God’s Banker, was chairman of Banco Ambrosiano whose main shareholder was own the Vatican Bank. His death has been, and is still, a source of controversies and mysteries, initially believed a suicide, when the investigation was carried on, the policemen understood that could not be a suicide but a murder.

The Roberto Calvi’s body was found hanging from the Blackfriars Bridge in London but a report was published in October 2002, confirming the first report, adds that injuries to Calvi’s neck were inconsistent with hanging and who the level of Thames, at the exact time of his death, was higher, it means that the rope knot could have been reached by a man standing in a boat.

However: the site where has been found the Calvi’s body, his relationship with Licio Gelli and other members of Propaganda 2 and his role in the Banco Ambrosiano Scandal, suggest that behind his death there has been the hand of P2. I want conclude highlighting that the name of bridge where has been found the Roberto Calvi’s body hanged is Blackfriars and is located at the edge of the City, the main financial centre of whole Europe.

The name of that bridge “Black Friars” is a clear allegory associated with the masonic world, so this detail, the location of this bridge, the level of Thames and the proof on Calvi’s neck, led to suggestions that behind an apparent suicide there has been the shadow of Licio Gelli and his clandestine lodge P2. There is an old and cultural bridge that connects England to the Tuscany’s coast, especially the Versilia coast. But this is not a normal bridge between two cities twinned, but there is something of special and suggestive behind the history of this ancient relationship.

In fact the legend tells that the famous British poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, after being drown in the sea off shore of Versilia coast, he was sailing on the Tuscany’s sea ( Viareggio ) but his death officially protected him in the immortality.

On 8 July 1822 the boat where the poet was sailing shipwrecked and the Shelley’s body was found only ten days after on the beach. On 16 August the cadaver of the poet was cremated but it seems that the Shelley’s heart survived at the flames and that is still intact kept in a unknown place along the Versilia coast.

The life of this famous poet, belonged to the Literally movement of Romanticism, has been always eventful and irregular. Although he has grown up in a noble family of Sussex and studied at Oxford he was not interested to the academy life and among his university colleagues Shelley was judged as strange, for this reason his eccentric attitude has brought at the result to be expelled from Oxford.

Probably the strong that emerges from his poems is the result of his tormented and irregular life. He has been acknowledged like one of the major English Romantic poets and is regarded by some as among the finest lyric, as well as epic, poets in the English language.

The legend around his intact heart is as well famous as his main works, the Shelley’s heart is still hided in an unknown place of the Versilia coast but his literature is still alive into our minds. However I would like to pick up the opportunity to do a short summarize of his main works in fact Shelley is perhaps best known for such classic poems as: Ozymandias, Ode to the west wind, To a Skylark, Music when a soft voices die, The Cloud, The Masque of anarquy.

Ozymandias has been written for celebrating the recent acquisition, by British Museum, of a large fragment of a statue of Ramesses II from the thirteenth century BC, In antiquity, Ozymandias was a Greek name for theEgyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. Shelley began writing his poem in 1817, soon after this announcements, thus he took clearly inspiration by this important fact acquisition.

Ode to the west wind begins with three sections describing the wind’s effects upon earth, air, and ocean. The last two sections are Shelley speaking directly to the wind, asking for its power, to lift him like a leaf, a cloud or a wave and make him its companion in its wanderings. He asks the wind to take his thoughts and spread them all over the world so that the youth are awoken with his ideas. The poem ends with an optimistic note which is that if winter days are here then spring is not very far.

To a Skylark was inspired by a walk of Shelley and his wife. While the poet and his wife Mary were walking in a place near Livorno, Italy, during that summer evening of 1820, the couple heard the song of a Skylark. That event touched the sentiments of Shelley that decided to write a poet about the“meeting” had with that skylark.

Music when a soft voices die was published as “To—” in 1824 under Miscellaneous Poems in two stanzas of four couplets each containing four lines in Posthumous Poems. The theme of the poem is the endurance of the memories of events and of sensations.

The Cloud is a poem that takes inspiration by the famous Greek poem entitled “The Metamorphosis of Ovidio”, in this work Shelley wants to highlight the cycle of the life. In “The Cloud”, Shelley relies on the imagery of transformation or metamorphosis, a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth: “I change, but I cannot die.” mutability or change is a fact of physical nature.

The Masque of anarquy it’s the most political poem in fact has been written after the Paterloo Massacre in Manchester 1819, Shelley in this work begins his poem with the powerful images of the unjust forms of authority of his time “God, and King, and Law” – and he then imagines the stirrings of a radically new form of social action. From this point he develops a poem entirely dedicated at the theme of politic and government.

These are only a part of his literary production, although Shelley died very young, at the age of twenty- nine years, he wrote a lot and the philosophy that he put in his works is still kept alive like the legend of his immortal heart.

The official end of the bipartisanship in Spain

The Spanish Conservative Party (Partido Popular) won the most seats in the last general election but losing its majority, now must to find a coalition with its competitors.

In fact after the poll of the votes this is the the result of the last political election in Spain: with almost all votes counted, the Popular Party (PP) had 123 seats; the Socialists 90 and the anti-austerity Podemos party 69. The liberal Ciudadanos party was in fourth place with 40 seats.

This is an historical fact because since 20 November 1975, day which the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco died, after three years of transition to democracy led by Adolfo Suarez, in Spain never happened an election like this.

For almost three decades the two main parties: Conservative Party (Partido Popular) and Socialist party, have been alternating over the time, but now it’s all changed.

The era of bipartisanship is official terminated in Spain, now the situation in this Mediterranean country is nearer the political situation in Italy rather then in the Anglo-Saxon countries.

The Popular Party had 28.7% of the vote; the Socialists 22%; Podemos 20.6% and Ciudadanos 13.9%. Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy’s PP should have got at least 176 seats to form a majority. It had 186 seats in the outgoing parliament.

Now the political situation in Spain it’s very complicated because a coalition with the natural political partner of Popular Party, Ciudadanos, can’t provide them a majority while an alliance with the Socialist Party would be very difficult. In fact the Socialist Party, on the other side, it’s clear that will find a coalition with Podemos.

Probably the “Anti-Austerity” party Podemos has been the main problem for the continuing of bipartisanship. The Party, led by the young Professor of Political Science at the University Complutense of Madrid Pablo Iglesias, election by election, has been always increasing its electors, votes and political power.

On Wednesday 16 December the General Consulate of Italy, has been hosted a interesting event entirely focalized about the theme of the cinema.

During that Wednesday evening has been screened the trailer of N.I.A.L. (Native Italian Actors London), this new cultural association is compound by young Italian actors and, thanks to the event organized by the General Consulate, there has been official launch of this motivated group of guys.

The idea of N.I.A.L is born few years ago while, a group of young actors, sharing their experiences at castings, discovered that in every casting here in London there was a common inconvenient detail.

When the casting was for Italian speakers they found many non-Italians who couldn’t speak the language and vice versa at castings for English speakers there were a lot of Italian with a low level of English. So they began to think that could be really annoying for casting agents and production companies to have constantly all these not appropriate candidates, and for seeking a solution to this problem thought that would have been a good thing the creation of this association.

The role of N.I.A.L is that to create order, giving help to who would be interested to begin his professional life as actor in London and find a suitable casting for him.

On Friday 11 December the founders Sara Laratro and Alessandro De Marco and the member of executive committee Emanuela Maletta have been invited as guests at the microphones of London One Radio for taking part at the live radio of the morning; however also Anna Elena Pepe, Simone Douani, Cecilia Gragnani e Marco Gambino are members of N.I.A.L. Especially Anna Elena Pepe, the main founder of N.I.A.L, wanted to remark how the idea to create this association of actors, which began in an informal meeting among friends, has been developing so that we have received the honour to be hosted by the General Consulate of Italy.
Apart the official presentation of N.I.A.L., the whole event was completely dedicated at the link that connects the large Italian community here in London, with the professional life on the cinematographic field. We have also had the pleasure to assist at the screening of the last work of the director Aurelio Laino entitled “Il ballo delle Meduse”. Laino, like his team of collaborators, moved here in London several years ago because this city could provide them more opportunities of work in the cinematographic sector compared to Italy. They were right, and now Aurelio Laino is became an estimated and famous director. With his last film, he wanted to highlight how in this particular moment, the flows of immigration to Italy are not so different from the flows of migration of young Italians to the United Kingdom and mostly to London.
The film, that has been filmed just this autumn in Genova, tells the story of two young Albanian and their new life in Italy full of hopes. The guys, one man and one woman, are arrived in Genova without the residency permit, are irregular immigrants and this situation will cause to them a long series of problems. However the whole story is a right comparison with the similar situation that thousands of young Italian are living now, in fact they leave Italy with the hope to find in London or in other places in Great Britain, a better conditions for their professional and career life. So the judgment of the British people about these new immigrants from Italy could be not so far from the judgment that the Italian people are used to do against the Albanians.
The director Aurelio Laino, intervening to microphones of London One Radio, told that the choice of Genova as city where record the film has not been random but is motivated by two main points: the first one is that Genova is a beautiful post industrial city, the second one is that the harbour made this city an industrial city but also an important crossroads for migration flows.

“Il ballo delle Meduse” gives us a lot of points of reflection and putting on the same flat the Italian immigration with the Albanian immigration, provides a new and interesting viewpoint.

Principia mission and the challenges of tomorrow

At the 11:02 of the morning of Tuesday 15 December, from the world’s first and largest cosmodrome at Baikonur, in Kazakhstan, will be carried out the launch of the last space mission in the program for this year whose code name is: Principia Mission.
It won’t be a normal mission but the importance of this launch is, for the Great Britain’s history, as well important as the landing of the Moon’s surface.

In the crew of the rocket Soyuz there will be also a British citizen, the astronaut Tim Peake.

Tim Peake will became the first British to go inside the International Space Station, even though the UK Space Agency has been contributing over the year at the assembling of the International Space Station, never before of that day, a British citizen reached the Space Station.

The United Kingdom will add another important page at its space history program and in London the Science Museum did not want to miss this epochal event.

During Tuesday 15 December, from the morning to the evening, the Science Museum will organize a series of events for celebrating and paying its tribute to this important result.

From 10.30 to 11.30 there will be a screening of the launch, then it’s possible to take part in a number of space related activities and meet space experts in person.

The other main event is forecasts for the evening and will start at the 18:30, around 16:45 and 17 the rocket Soyuz should reach the ISS, so the first video of Tim Peake on the International Space Station will be shown from 18.30.

Tim Peake, during the six months of his mission, will be part of an international crew; the mission, called Principia, will be very important for the next future of the mankind. During these months the crew will use the unique environment of space to do experiments as well as try out new technologies for future human exploration missions.

Without Lucio The last work of the director Mario Sesti is a documentary entirely dedicated to the figure of the great Italian singer Lucio Dalla. Narrated by Marco Alemanno’s voice, his partner for a lot of years until his end, “Without Lucio” is a open window on the private and professional life of this icon of Italian pop music.

This documentary has been selected for being screened on Saturday 12 December, by the staff of Cinema Italia UK that once again confirms the great expertise of its team that, event by event, offers to us screenings always more interesting.

The director and movie critic Mario Sesti decided to fill the huge gap that the Lucio Dalla’s death left in the whole Italian society, dedicating to this important artist an entire documentary.

But the purpose of Mario Sesti’s last work was not only to celebrate the Lucio Dalla’s successes, but was that to show us Lucio under a lot of aspects of his secret personal life.

A travel in to the memory of one of greatest Italian pop artist of ever, his best hits are not only a piece of history for the Italian cultural heritage, but are treasures donated to the world’s heritage.

Dalla began his artistic career as musician in a local jazz band of Bologna called Rheno Dixieland Band, he played the clarinet but his versatility was so clear since his early beginnings, that the famous singer-songwriter Gino Paoli, hearing Dalla’s vocal qualities, suggested that he attempted a soloist career as soul singer.

It’s very curious also the anecdote that links the famous director Pupi Avati with Lucio, indeed the Italian director was a member of the same Jazz band but when Dalla did his entrance in that band, his huge talent as clarinettist, was so evident that Pupi Avati began to be invidious and to hate a bit him.

However Dalla’s debut at the “Cantagiro music festival” in 1965 was not a successful probably for his music, which was too original and experimental for that time. Anyway his great talent did not remain in a shadow for a lot and first with the song “4 March 1943” and after with “Piazza Grande”, Lucio Dalla was definitely projected on the Italian musical scenario. With “Caruso” written in 1986 and “Attenti al Lupo” composed in 1990, the Italian singer reached the notoriety to abroad, his great hit “Caruso” was also sung by two important Italian tenors such as: Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti.

During the documentary, of the director Mario Sesti, will not emerge only the important results that this Italian singer-songwriter achieved over his artistic career, but thanks to the tribute that important national and international artists such as: Toni Servillo, Renzo Arbore and Jhon Turturro, wanted to pay, the audience will can know the private life of this versatile artist.

A true and emotional journey across the Dalla’s life, this is the purpose that the author of this Documentary wanted to insert in his last work. Watching this, the public will receive interesting and curious information about his life and thoughts unknown to the majority of people.

Inauguration of the Native Italian Actors (N.I.A.L.)

Consulate General of Italy in London to host the launch of N.I.A.L. Directory of Native Italian Actors (N.I.A.L.) helps production companies find actors who are fluent in English and Italian London, 9th of December 2015 – On the 16th of December 2015, the Consulate General of Italy will officially present N.I.A.L., Native Italian Actors in London, a directory of bilingual actors.

The event will take place at the Consulate General of Italy at 5.30pm. N.I.A.L. is the first directory that lists professional Native Italian actors based in London, who are fluent in both English and Italian.

It was founded in 2014 to offer Casting Directors and Production Companies a single point of contact when searching actors who speak both languages. N.I.A.L. members are trained and reliable bilingual actors of different ages, gender and casting types.

The Consul General of Italy, Massimiliano Mazzanti says: “Cinema and theatre have always been a passion of mine. I believe that actors getting together to create a community with a common goal is a great initiative that we are very happy to support!” Efficient directory for production companies and casting directors

The idea of the association was born among a group of Italian actors based in London who were discussing a common experience at castings. When the casting was for Italian speakers they found many nonItalians who couldn’t speak the language, and vice-versa at castings for English speaking Italians they were surrounded by Italian actors who could barely speak English. There was a need to create a community of trustworthy bilingual actors. N.I.A.L. was founded by Anna Elena Pepe, Sara Laratro, Alessandro De Marco and Simone Douani.

It is now run by an executive committee that includes the founding members and the actors Cecilia Gragnani, Manuela Maletta and Marco Gambino and is currently a directory of more than 40 actors. Besides the support of the Consulate General of Italy in London, N.I.A.L. has gained the support of important institutions, such as the Italian Cultural Institute (ICI) and has formed partnerships with organisations such as Cinema Italia UK, Italian Kingdom and Artisti 7607.

Furthermore, N.I.A.L. is a powerful network and sustains activities to train, promote and support its members.

Especially since the go-live of its website www.nial.org.uk in March 2015, the network has proved its effectiveness: it has been a source for several castings in the UK and abroad and even provided the full cast of the upcoming movie “Il Ballo delle Meduse” (Dancing Jellyfish) by Aurelio Laino, Freeside Films.
