MSC BELLISSIMA, star of an incredible documentary on Valentine’s Day

MSC Cruises’ BELLISSIMA will be the star of the fascinating documentary “Building The Ultimate Mega Cruise Ship” to be screened on Channel 5 at 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day (February 14th).

In the an hour-long documentary, the construction secrets of the largest ship ever christened in the UK will be revealed.

MSC Bellissima was officially christened last spring in Southampton, and has as its godmother the Italian actress Sophia Loren: built with 35,000 tonnes of steel, 171,000-ton vessel and measuring in at 1,036 feet with the capacity to accommodate up to 7000 people including passengers and crew members.

The audience will thus be able to see the behind the scenes that made the construction of this magnificent ship possible, from its conception to its daily practical operation, including the way water is provided on board and the technology behind the fantastic entertainment venues, including the Cirque du Soleil shows.

Created by Windfall Films, the episode will focus on not only the internal mechanisms of MSC Bellissima, but also on design and its first voyages, highlighting all the advantages that a cruise holiday can offer.

Discovering Eton College

Eton College was born in 1440 from by King Henry VI who desired to found an institution that would shape and educate the next british ruling class in the English Language, aiming at creating a natural ‘bridge’ between high school and university education level. It started as a charity school which provided free education for seventy poor boys in Windsor, Berkshire, who then continued their scholastic career in the exclusive 70 colleges between Oxford and Cambridge, leading universities in the world.

For the first time, Eton College opened his doors to an Italian production team, London One Radio, allowing us to perceive the unicity and the peculiarities of this institution in its whole beauty. Dr. Marco Liviero has been the voice who guided such tour in the numerous rooms of the college, by providing insights on what distinguishes them from other boarding schools. He explains that Eton College was love at first sight: he visited the school during an academic trip, and already passionate about the British culture, theatre and Shakespeare, he pictured himself in this institution. A dream that came reality as, for the past 19 years, he has been the Professor of English Literature at Eton College.


Eton is not like any other boarding schools, students are developed in toto. As Dr. Marco Liviero explains, “Excelling in school is not enough. Being passionate is an essential quality, and what is mot important is to be willing to invest effort and time in these”. The academic part is indeed just a small component of the education that student receive from Eton: they develop their passions, initiative spirit, and sense of responsibility through the many extracurricular activities from sport, to music and theatre.

The Farrer theatre, the creative heart of Eton College, is one of the most magical places in the boarding school. London – Trafalgar Square this week end : The West End Live Show 2019

The stage is already set, and throughout the whole weekend, great performers from the most important West End musicals, from the Lion King, Mamma Mia to Thriller live, just to name a few, will perform short sets at Trafalgar Square.
Presented by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, the annual event will start Saturday, from 11am to 5pm, up until Sunday, from 12am to 5pm, and it will see performing more than 50 artists throughout the weekend. From the refreshments to the interaction and the merchandise, the event is family-friendly


Whether you cannot make it to the show, everything will be recorded and shared on the many social media platforms so that everyone can participate, and also have a sneak peek about the behind-the-scenes content.

Elisa is Back to London for her new Tour!

The great Italian singer and songwriter, Elisa, lands in the UK to perform during her 2019 European tour here in the capital city on the 30th of July and on the 2nd of August in Edinburgh. We will also see the artist performing in other major European cities, around Germany, Switzerland and Norway.

Her music genre can be categorized as alternative rock, influenced by her idols Dolores O’Riordan, Björk, Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette and Aretha Franklin.

Her background in the USA allowed her to expand her audience outside Italy by recording and writing her songs mainly in English, one of the few Italian songwriters that has made such a decision. Come Speak to Me, Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance are few of her most famous tracks in the international scene, and part of a discography composed by nine studio albums, 5 compilations and 51 singles. Her talent has been awarded with 1 diamond disc, 1 multi platinum disc, and 13 platinum discs.

 

Throughout her career, she performed with prestigious artists from Eros Ramazzotti, Zucchero, Francesco de Gregori, to Luciano Pavarotti. Worth mentioning that her song Ancora Qui, in collaboration with Ennio Morricone, was featured in a Quentin Tarantino’s film, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Her tour will start in Germany, in Cologne on the 20th of July at Luxor and in Hannover on 21st of July at Musikzentrum, moving successively to Norway, Oslo on 23rd July at Blaa. She will go back to Germany, Hamburg on the 25th of July at Fabrik before performing in Switzerland, in Bellinzona on the 26th of July at the Castle on Air. The tour will end in the UK, first performing in the capital city at the Union Chapel, and successively in Edinburgh at the Liquid Room.

Paddington’s Pop-Up London launched by Mayor Sadiq Khan and movie cast

 STUDIOCANAL, in partnership with VisitLondon.com, is delighted to announce the launch of PADDINGTON’S POP-UP LONDON which was unveiled today at London Bridge City by London Mayor Sadiq Khan and PADDINGTON 2 filmmakers and cast members Hugh Bonneville, Simon Farnaby, Rosie Alison, Alexandra Ferguson-Derbyshire, Michael Bond’s daughter Karen Jankel and local school children. The five spectacular pop-up book installations featuring Michael Bond’s much-loved bear will appear at iconic landmarks and attractions across London from Monday 23 October – 3 December 2017, ahead of the film’s eagerly awaited release in UK Cinemas on 10 November 2017.

In PADDINGTON 2, Paddington discovers an exceptional pop-up book in Mr Gruber’s antique store. Taking inspiration from this, these five stunning free attractions will be open for everyone to enjoy, with installations appearing across the Capital and featuring some of London’s most famous landmarks: Westminster, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus. The pop-ups will appear at the following popular tourist spots: Peter’s Hill (St Paul’s), Tower Bridge, Paddington Station, Peninsula Square (The O2) and Bankside (Tate Modern).

Families coming to London this half term will be able to discover Paddington’s Pop-Up London, which will lead them on a treasure hunt across the city, as they journey from pop-up book to pop-up book to discover a secret word. They will then be able to enter a competition on www.visitlondon.com/paddington2 to win a Paddington Afternoon tea journey for all the family, aboard the iconic Belmond British Pullman train.  

During the six-week run the striking pop-up installations will also provide a backdrop for a series of events and moments including readings of the first Paddington book, hosted by Harper Collins; face painting for Halloween, balloon model making and ‘Postcards from London’ craft activity.

That is why London Fashion Week is surprisingly polyhedral and full of feelings: it is a mixture of traditional culture and innovative ideas.
LFW -5 days, 83 designer and 35 million guests from over 58 countries- shows how the UK is a major player on the global stage.

DAVID SUCHET IS THE VOICE OF ASLAN IN THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

David Suchet will provide the voice of Aslan in Threesixty Entertainment’s major new production of C.S.

Lewis’ classic The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, which opens in the historic grounds of Kensington Gardens on 29th May with previews from 8th May. The production stars Sally Dexter, Forbes Masson and Brian Protheroe in the roles of the White Witch, Mr Tumnus and the Professor respectively and Carly Bawden, Rebecca Benson, Philip Labey and Jonny Weldon as the legendary Pevensie siblings.

In a unique collaboration this dazzling production is adapted by award-winning director Rupert Goold and staged by Threesixty (producer Charlie Burnell), who gained international acclaim for their first production Peter Pan, and directed by Rupert Goold and Michael Fentiman.

The show will be staged in the state of the art Threesixty theatre tent where this visually stunning live production will use ground-breaking surround video and enchanting puppetry to bring to life the magic of Narnia in one of the world’s best-loved stories.

Four siblings, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, discover the magical world of Narnia when they pass through a mysterious wardrobe door.

Ruled by the White Witch who has cast a spell making it forever winter, the children together with new found friends battle to bring happiness to the land in this classic tale of good versus evil. 2 Threesixty’s inimitable productions offer audiences of all ages an all-encompassing theatrical experience delivering some of the greatest stories ever written as they have never been seen before.
